IT or Information Technology is driving all the business operations and processes. Every business, large or small has IT at the core of the business. IT is all pervasive and even if a single process is affected, the impact is felt on the entire business. If your website is down even for 4 hours, that may cost your business millions of dollars. Therefore, it is important to provide the ongoing computer support or PC support. However, it is a very difficult task. This is why, many companies prefer to outsource business IT support, network support & PC support to third party. However, it is important that the IT support company should be chosen carefully. After all, a good and reputed company can maximize your business potential and propel the revenues. It is indeed a wise decision to outsource the task of computer support or IT support to a third party, so that the business owners can pay more attention towards the growth of the company. There are various services that come under business IT support such as help desk, onsite support, IT security, network support, inventory tracking, development of patches and service packs & technology consulting. There are many companies available that can guarantee big results. They often claim 100% uptime, 24 x 7 network monitoring, guaranteed problem resolution etc. However, most of these claims are fake ones. So, it is important to consider following points before selecting the right IT support company. Experience First, try to select a company that has both experience and expertise in providing PC support. A company needs to be able to provide on-site as well as remote network support. SLA Enter into the clear terms of contract, which is called service level agreement (SLA). The contract highlights terms of agreement including the types of services provided, hardware and software requirements & the type of assistance whether on-site or offshore. It also includes the escalation procedures. The SLA should be agreed by both the parties including the business IT support company. The SLA should include response time. The contract should also include the penalties in case of the breach of contract. Certified Engineers It is important that the people who are working for the company should be well qualified and certified. They should be able to rectify the problems and provide more than just the basic computer support. Scalability It is important to look at the current and future needs and based on that choose the right company. Sometimes, it may happen that the company is able to meet only the current demands. But, there is no guarantee of services in future.
